Note: Can't find this in your Cloud? This feature is available with the Essential or Plus Plan of TimeMoto Cloud. If you want to get the most out of your TimeMoto account, make sure to upgrade your plan to your needs!

In TimeMoto Cloud, you can add different types of schedules to your planning. But did you know that the type of schedule can affect the way reports work? Depending on the schedule type, you can select any report period or only a specific kind of period.

In this article, we will go through all schedule types and see how they can affect your reports and your report periods.

Good to know: Want to read more about scheduling? In this article, we go into further detail about the different schedule types.

Fixed Time Schedule

Fixed time schedules use fixed start and end times on specific days of the week. This means that no matter which report period you select, the reports will always give you an exact daily total of scheduled hours.

If an employee always works with fixed start and end times, this is the best way to plan a schedule while getting the most out of the reports function. That way even custom reports or summaries will contain the most accurate numbers.

Fixed Duration Schedule

Fixed duration schedules use a specific number of hours per day of the week. Just like a fixed time schedule, this schedule type guarantees that no matter which report period you select, the reports will always give you an exact daily total of scheduled hours.

If an employee works more flexibly but still has a set number of hours per day, this is the best way to plan a schedule while getting the most out of the reports function. That way even custom reports or summaries will contain the most accurate numbers.

What if an employee works different shifts on different days each week?

If scheduled hours change frequently, especially if an employee works different shifts, you can use the calendar in the planning section to schedule each day/week individually.

For different shifts each day, you can create different schedules for an early, middle and late shift on the schedule page. But instead of assigning them to the employee's card, you can schedule the shift in the calendar depending on your planning.
