In order for the update of your TimeMoto Clocks to work correctly, it is important that your USB flash drive is formatted to the FAT32 file system (we recommend a flash drive with max. 16 GB storage capacity). If yours has a different format, you can easily adjust this.
Warning: When you format your USB flash drive, it is important that there are no (important) files saved on it, otherwise they will be lost during formatting!
Instructions for Windows users
- Make sure your USB stick is connected to your computer.
- Open
[File Explorer]in the taskbar and then click[This PC]. You should be able to see all connected hard drives and partitions. There you can find all connected drives (including USB flash drives). - Select the USB flash drive you want to format and right-click on the icon. Select the option
[Format]. - A window opens, go to the drop-down menu under
[File system]and select the option "FAT32.". - Click
[Start]and then confirm with[OK]. - A pop-up notification will inform you once formatting is complete. Your flash drive is now formatted to the FAT32 file system.
Instructions for Mac users
- Make sure your USB stick is connected to your Mac.
- Open
[Applications]and select the Utilities folder there. - Under the list, select
[Disk utilities]. From there, select the USB flash drive you want to format and click on the[Erase]option. - Make sure the FAT32 option is selected and confirm the operation with
[Erase]. - Once the formatting is complete, your USB flash drive is now running with the FAT32 file system.
