This article explains how to free up storage space on a TimeMoto device by removing old attendance records. A full device memory can cause the TimeMoto device to become slow, unresponsive, or unable to process new clocking data. The article helps users maintain device performance by explaining how to delete outdated attendance data and prevent storage-related issues.
Important: Before removing any data, please make sure that the attendance data has already been synchronized to your TimeMoto Cloud. Deleting attendance data will only delete it locally on the time clock system and not in the Cloud.
To delete attendance data, press [Menu] on your system. If you have a Manager or Unit Supervisor on your system, you will see “Identify” on the system’s screen. You will then have to identify yourself as a Manager / Unit Supervisor to open the system. You can find more information on this in this article.
Once in the menu, use the arrow buttons to select [Data Management] and press [OK]. Select [Delete data]. Then, select [Delete Attendance Data]. In the next screen, you can choose [Delete All] or [Delete by Time Range].
If you select [Delete All], all attendance data on the system will be deleted once you confirm this. We do suggest only using this option if you are completely sure that you do not require any attendance data left on the system.
If you select [Delete by Time Range], you can set the time range during which you want to delete attendance data. You will first set a Start Time, followed by an End Time, to define over which period you want to delete attendance data. A notification will appear. To confirm the deletion process, use the arrow keys to select “OK” until the field is highlighted in green. Then confirm your selection by pressing [OK]. Once confirmed, this will remove all attendance within this time range from the system.
For example, you set the Start Time to 2023-01-01 and the End Time to 2023-12-31. Once you confirm these dates, all attendance data from 1 January 2023 until and including 31 December 2023 will be removed from the system.
