Clocking Actions With Projects
- Last updated on March 4, 2024 at 2:32 PM
If you have created projects in your TimeMoto Cloud, employees can clock their working hours on specific tasks. In this article, we explain how to carry out clocking actions with projects on the TimeMoto clocks.
Clocking Under a Project
If an employee wants to check in under a project, they can select the project on the time clock as long as the project has been added to your TimeMoto Cloud:
- Identify yourself as usual.
- The clock's screen shows you the type of clocking action. You can now press the [^]-button on the clock before the timer runs out.
- A menu pops up where you can select all kinds of clocking actions. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the option “Projects”. Press [OK] to confirm.
You will now see the projects available on the time clock. Select the project you want to clock in, and press [OK]. You will now be clocked in under that project.
Switching Projects
If an employee wants to switch projects during the day, they simply have to clock out to stop the current project and repeat the procedure above to select the new one.
Requiring Projects When Clocking
If you want employees to always have to clock in under a project, you can set the TimeMoto clock to require an employee to select a project when clocking in:
- Open the [Menu] on the TimeMoto clock.
- Select [Project Management] > [Project Options].
- Select “Project Required” and press [OK]. A checkmark appears in the box behind the option, showing that this option is now active.
- Press [ESC] multiple times to return to the main screen.
When an employee now clocks in on the time clock, the project selection screen will automatically show up. The employee then has to select a project from the list to clock in.
Important: when your time clock uses a firmware version of 2.4 or lower, employees will also have to select a project when clocking out. Starting with firmware version 3.0, employees only have to select a project when clocking in. If you want to learn more about updating your firmware, please follow one of the following links:
