How do I format my USB flash drive?

In order for the update of your TimeMoto Clocks to work correctly, it is important that your USB flash drive is formatted to the FAT32 file system. If yours has a different format, you can easily adjust this.

Warning: When you format your USB flash drive, it is important that there are no (important) files saved on it, otherwise they will be lost during formatting!

Instructions for Windows users

  1. Make sure your USB stick is connected to your computer.
  2. Open [File Explorer] in the taskbar and then click [This PC] . You should be able to see all connected hard drives and partitions. There you can find all connected drives (including USB flash drives).
  3. Select the USB flash drive you want to format and right-click on the icon. Select the option [Format].
  4. A window opens, go to the drop-down menu under [File system] and select the option "FAT32.".
  5. Click [Start] and then confirm with [OK] .
  6. A pop-up notification will inform you once formatting is complete. Your flash drive is now formatted to the FAT32 file system.

Instructions for Mac users

  1. Make sure your USB stick is connected to your Mac.
  2. Open [Applications] and select the Utilities folder there.
  3. Under the list, select [Disk utilities]. From there, select the USB flash drive you want to format and click on the [Erase] option.
  4. Make sure the FAT32 option is selected and confirm the operation with [Erase] .
  5. Once the formatting is complete, your USB flash drive is now running with the FAT32 file system.
